| | | | | | | | | | | 22.06.2007 | | | | | | CFS Aquarius triples speed for double twist-wrap | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | | Smooth and accurate The new TwistWrapper is a continuous-motion machine that dramatically improves film handling. The new machine operates smoothly and accurately at a much higher output of 1,000 lollipops a minute. The machine reaches a higher degree of filling through automatic feeding. Segment Manager, Lollipops, Kees Le Loux explains: “Film positioning and cutting is precise thanks to servo drives on both the film feed and the rotary knife. This degree of fine control is especially important at these high speeds.” To solve the issue of static electricity, which is problematic when film speeds accelerate, Aquarius, integrated ionisation.
Reduce costs “Obviously, the higher output is extremely important,” says Le Loux. “But, next to rationalisation of production, what saves the customer the most money, is the reduction in film us.” Due to the combination of new technologies the High Speed machine requires less film as an intermittent machine per identical lollipop.
Increase efficiency Film reels can take up a diameter of 510 mm diameter, and optional an auto splicing unit is also available. Wrapping options include different heat sealable films, from polypropylene and laminates to cellophane and wax paper. Single or double layers of film it al can run on the new TwistWrapper. The new TwistWrapper machine holds a unique, contact less heating system for the sealing around the stick, which also allows controlling the temperature on each individual sealing station, in order to guarantee a high, consistent sealing quality. Given the high operating speeds in combination with the required availability, Aquarius has gone to great lengths to ensure that all major mechanical parts are well protected.
Flexibility The TwistWrapper can handle a wide range of lollipop diameters from 18 to 35 mm. Therefore this high speed machine is equipped with a memory function for saving and calling up different product settings, and format parts are easily changed.
While some customers prefer the single twist or bunch-wrap around the stick, double twist-wrap on ball lollipops is standard for others. “It’s the leading format in certain parts of the world. Le Loux comments. “Other areas have a mix of bunch and double-twist lollipops.”
The new Aquarius TwistWrapper machine has already proven itself in production at various leading lollipop producers. Patents are pending on a number of technical solutions of the Aquarius TwistWrapper High Speed.
Next to the TwistWrapper, Aquarius offers a wide range of forming options, matching cooling solutions and various other wrapping styles for lollipops. Its product portfolio allows Aquarius to make up unique line concepts.
