Krämer+Grebe

Krämer+Grebe

In 1922 Fritz Krämer and two associates founded a machine manufacturing company that in 1936 took over the production program for meat processing machines from Lettermann (which closed down in 1936), and laid the foundations for over seventy years of innovation. The same year, talented engineer Ludwig Grebe joined the growing company. In 1942, the site in Wallau (Germany) was opened, and the company officially became known as Krämer+Grebe. The first small bowl cutter with exchangeable knife head, the Krämer+Grebe ‘Propeller Blitz’ only followed in 1945, and the company strengthened its strong reputation for bowl cutters, hand grinders and fillers. Developments followed in quick succession, including the world’s first vacuum bowl cutter in 1956, and the world’s first cutter with two knife heads - the DUO in 1959.

By 1975, the company’s Cutmix bowl cutters were a global success, and in 1992 the first CutMaster generation was launched.

In 1989 Krämer+Grebe was acquired by Alfa Laval. Later on the name was changed to Tetra Laval Convenience Food. In 1997 a new company was formed under the umbrella of Convenience Food Systems (CFS). Krämer+Grebe and also Koppens were one of the first members of this new company. The products, know-how and experience of Krämer+Grebe are still alive within CFS until today. Today the focus is on enhancing the performance of your business, and the CFS CutMasters excel in terms of knife speed, sanitation, ease-of-use, loading and unloading efficiency, bowl design and more.
